NIKE, Inc.’s focus on the Nike Air Max line throughout 2020 has been largely seen via its mainline silhouettes from 1990 and 1995, but the North American institution has unveiled a handful of new models along the way. Among them, the Nike Air Max Zephyr.
At a glance, the latest proposition simply appears to be an Air Max 720-variant, but closer inspection reveals unique design choices. Like LeBron James’ newest signature sneaker, the Zephyr features visible Air units throughout the upper. Breathable mesh underlays and mixed-material overlays across the pair’s top-half add a sporty, heritage aesthetic to the future-thinking silhouette. Unlike inaugural options, this recently-emerged colorway favors a predominantly “Black” palette. Shades of an ostensibly muted “Freshwater” tone, however, animate detailing around the tongue for an arrangement that doesn’t take away from the sneakers’ versatility. Underfoot, sole units forgo any contrast for an all-dark makeup.
