Much of Nike’s experimentation with the Air Force 1 has been the result of either removing existing piece or adding on a wide variety of embellishments. We’ve seen the shoe sans Swoosh and with Swooshes galore next to a revolving door of materials from 3M reflective to Pendleton wool. The upcoming Air Force 1/1 now gives that power of creativity to the consumer as the entire upper is removable from a panel to panel basis with the option to reveal the black adhesive fabric beneath. Furthermore, a full swatch of interchangeable panels in Cosmic Clay further the dimension of DIY, although those options are limited to the Swoosh, heel, tongue patch, and shoelaces.
BAIT exclusively released the Air Force 1/1 earlier in December, adding their own exclusive spin with patches inspired by A5 Wagyu beef as a nod to the luxurious cut of meat raised by meticulous Japanese standards. While that limited release dropped exclusively at Tokyo Comic Con, this general release version will drop on December 17th in adult ($140) and grade school ($100) sizing. See below to get further acquainted with the release before it drops on SNKRS and select shops.
