Hot off the heels of Space Hippie, Nike began outfitting many of their existing classics with recycled materials. And now, for 2021, they’re moving away from even that as they’ve built another sustainable hero: the Crater Impact.
A mix of ideas both new and old, the pair — at first glance — appears oddly familiar. Its upper’s frame, which is constructed primarily out of mesh, leans quite close to the general guise of past runners. The subtler details, however, are rather unique to the brand’s “Crater” concept, with Swooshes taking shape through Boro-reminiscent execution and the the stitch/branding throughout contrasting heavily in their use of a vibrant orange. Below, the tooling bears the scraps and “trash” of Nike’s GRIND processes, all embedded in shades of blue, red, and the like.
For a detailed look at this white colorway, keep scrolling. A release, for both this pair and the many to accompany, will likely hit Nike.com with the coming months.
