Kevin Durant and his Brooklyn Nets squad have been eliminated from championship contention in the 2020-21 season, but that has deterred the Washington D.C.-native from continuing to work on his craft. Set to represent Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics, Durant is sure to debut new colorways of his Nike KD 14, which may include a newly-surfaced black and white option complemented by primary colors.
Akin to an option inspired by teammate Kyrie Irving‘s first signature sneaker, the upcoming KD shoe indulges in an eye-catching arrangement appropriate of @easymoneysniper’s world-class game (“Skip” Bayless claimed Durant’s 49-point performance in Game 5 of the 2020-21 NBA Playoffs’ second series solidified him as the best player on the planet). Vibrant yellow, blue and red deliver stark contrast to the pair’s mixed-materials upper, which feature a “yin-and-yang”-appropriate textile base. Paint splatter on the mid-foot lockdown strap and white midsole further animate the sneakers, while the outsole’s layout and color-blocking wouldn’t look out of place beside “Composition II in Red, Blue, and Yellow” by Piet Mondrian.
This KD 14 was previously listed by select retailers as launching on June 6th, but a drop never occurred. An official Nike.com release is likely to occur throughout summer. In any case, enjoy images of Durant’s next shoe here below.
