While often overshadowed by Allen Iverson‘s first signature sneaker, the Reebok Answer IV played a pivotal role in the Virginia-native’s iconic career. And though it’s appeared in original and “flips” of original colorways, the strap-featuring design has recently indulged in new, modern styles.
Abandoning any hot rod flames and purple and gold likely inspired by the Los Angeles Lakers (Tyronn Lue in particular), the latest take on Iverson’s fourth signature sneaker indulges in a mostly-black arrangement. Detailing at the toe, along the profiles and around the heel deviate from the dark base in either a “Terracotta”-reminiscent brown or rich yellow. The lockdown strap and zipper forgo any touch of flair for a tonal scheme that allows the aforementioned components to rebel that much more in the spotlight. Underfoot, the stability plate at the center of the outsole works in tandem with the DMX-cushioning window right underneath the heel to further bring some personality to Reebok‘s understated proposition.
No stateside Reebok.com release details have been disclosed, but this pair is currently available across Asia. In any case, enjoy official images of the shoes ahead.
