In the sneaker scene, seasonal releases serve as a pretty clear telltale of how far into the year we are. For instance, we know that we’re well into the summer since Nike just dropped a set of five team-based colorways for the Nike PG 5.
For its TB styles, Paul George‘s 5th signature shoe ditches its usual showy glory for sleek two-toned outfittings. The two-toned approach consists of pairing stark white overlays with black, “Game Royal,” “Wolf Grey,” or “University Red” mesh uppers. A closer look at the mesh mid-panel reveals the low-top basketball shoe’s signature abstract overlays, which feature haphazardly curved lines for a camo-like pattern. As with other PG 5 models, embroidered Swooshes and Nike Air Dot Weld Strobel cushioning are included in each pair. The TB pack is complete splotches of color creating a patterned outsole—a look that is channeled by the PG 5 “Pao Jiao” and a couple of other styles.
Take a closer look at the PG 5s, which are available now at Nike.com at a price of $110. While the White and “University Red” pair hasn’t dropped just yet, it is likely to be available on the site in the coming weeks.
In other news related to the Beaverton-based brand, the Air Jordan 1 Mid is switching things up a bit for an upcoming “Brazil” colorway.
