Nike KD 15
The Nike KD 15 is the fifteenth signature silhouette in Kevin Durant’s signature series with the Beaverton brand designed by Ben Nethongkome.
The Nike KD 15 was in the works for nearly two years before its eventual release in September of 2022. Conversations around the silhouette began in the summer of 2020 during Durant’s annual meeting in Beaverton when the two-time NBA Champion noted he wanted to stray away from the mid-top constructions of his past few models.
Citing a desire to return to the court-feel found within the KD 4, 6 and 3, the Nike KD 15 was cut down to a low top to Durant’s specifications. Inspired by the Jet Flight silhouettes synonymous with Steve Nash and Luke Ridnour, the upper remains breathable with a toe-to-heel mesh upper while 3D-printed mid-foot cages and heel counters help negate any concerns over stability.
Dating back to the KD 12, Durant’s signature line has paired full-length Zoom Strobel with Zoom cushioning elements. After a three-model run, the KD 15 evolves with a full-length Cushlon footbed housing pockets of Zoom Strobel for enough cushioning to last from tip-off to overtime.
The Nike KD 15 released at retailers in adult sizing in June 2022 for a retail price of $150 USD.
