The Nike Zoom Freak 5 Flashes Onto The Court In “University Red”

The Nike Zoom Freak 5 Flashes Onto The Court In “University Red”

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s fifth signature silhouette with Nike is easily his most polarizing, doing away with the reverse checks and sporting an eye-catching Swoosh extending unto the Zoom Air midsole. While public perception around the low-top trim has waned, the Beaverton brand continues to explore team-ready offerings across the Zoom Freak 5.

Appearing in several player-exclusive efforts since the NBA season started, the latest colorway to adhere to the bodacious design echos the recently previewed black and red Giannis Immortality 3. Just like its cost-effective counterpart, a persistent amount of jet-black shades consume the near-entirety of the upper and tread. While a “Pure Platinum” midsole illuminates the ensemble underfoot, a slightly darker shade of “Smoke Grey” treats the inner lining and lace loops. Elsewhere, the pair’s branded embellishments close out the pitch-dark effort with bright crimson detailing.

The Nike Zoom Freak 5 “Black/Red/Grey” is expected to release in early 2024 for a retail price of $130. In the meantime, the pair can be seen in detailed imagery ahead.

For more basketball releases, the Kobe 4 “Black Mamba” debuts on December 27th.
