The Ozmillen, adiStar Cushion 3, and Response CL are up to the task.

adidas Originals Is Ready To Take On The 2000s Runner Trend With Three Models

Building on the resurgence of 2000s-era runners in recent years, adidas Originals dives into its archives to present the “2000 Running” collection. The delivery consists of one-to-one remakes of iconic adidas running silhouettes and a brand new model in celebration of Y2K aesthetics.

The new adidas Ozmillen sneaker takes inspiration from the iconic Ozweego, which itself is a reflection of 90s sneaker design. While the new model departs from the Ozweego in many ways, the most noticeable being the absence of abstract mudguards and eyelets, the design inspiration behind the Ozmillen remains apparent through its rounded edges and bubbly aesthetic. When it comes to the Y2K theme, the Ozmillen communicates its 2000s feel through metallic overlays and mesh uppers.

Next up is a pair of new Response CL, boasting ventilated mesh segments, synthetic components, and an EVA cushioned midsole. Completing the lineup is the adiStar Cushion 3, a standout design from the 2000s that wears a breathable mesh upper, reflective accents, metallic touches, and Adiprene cushioning.

The collection’s debut is celebrated by the “Two Thousand Stories” campaign, a collaboration between British photographer Ewan Spencer, known for his work in the late 90s and early 2000s, and contemporary visual artist Sophie Jones. The campaign, a dynamic visual dialogue, highlights adidas’ place in sneaker culture through the lenses of these two, merging creatives of two eras to coincide with the fusion of past and modern sneaker aesthetics.

The “2000 Running” collection launches January 22nd on the adidas website and at select retailers. In the meantime, enjoy official images below.
