Air is a huge part of Nike’s past, present, and future, and the Air Force 1 played a huge role in bringing that technology to light back in the day. It wasn’t the first shoe to feature an air unit, that distinction goes to the Tailwind, but it introduced tons of consumers to Air technology and laid the groundwork for many of the brand’s Air-focused ambitions. Bruce Kilgore’s design and the technology that powers it have stood the test of time, and it’s all celebrated on Nike’s modern AF1 interpretation; the Air Force 1 EVO.
The EVO’s defining feature is its visible Air units, showing tech that’s present but behind the scenes on mainline Air Force 1s. Green floods the Air chambers on this pair to match a pebbled leather upper, that section being made unique by cut-outs where the Swoosh, heel, and tongue take shape. Tactile white fabric appears through all those areas, complemented by white lining and laces to round out the top portion. Underfoot, aside from the green Air units, the shoe is complete with a white midsole and gum tread featuring small debossed circles, another subtle nod to Air.
Expect these to hit shelves come Summer 2024 for $145, the same price as all low-top AF1 EVO’s to date. In the meantime, enjoy official images below and return to our Sneaker Release Dates page for a full preview of all upcoming Air Force 1 drops.
If you’re a fan of the EVO but would prefer a different colorway, check out this “White/University Blue” pair also slated for Summer 2024.
