The early months of 2024 were dominated by the Nike Air Max Dn, Beaverton’s latest and greatest formulation in the storied product line. With its handful of debut colorways in the rear view, we’re starting to get glimpses of how Oregon creatives will experiment with the silhouette as the year plays out. The newest piece of the puzzle is the Nike Air Max Dn “University Red,” set to debut in the Fall.
The soft gradient on the upper is probably the thing that’ll catch most people’s attention, bringing the woven texture from the matte black of the glossy toe cap to steely “Iron Grey.” Sticking in that region, the dotted stippling opts for vibrant “University Red.” That contrast detailing is a first for the the model, yet creates a more cohesive profile overall on this shoe, tying together the mini Swoosh, Dn branding and outsole in this application. It should go without saying that a mix of black, grey and red is successful pretty much on its own merits, but the additional design switch-ups in this pair make it one of the more impressive looks for the Air Max Dn seen in its young life.
The Nike Air Max Dn “Black/University Red” is expected to drop as a part of the Fall ’24 slate. The typical $160 retail price is confirmed. Enjoy retailer images ahead to get a sense before this shoe debuts.
Sticking with the Swoosh, the Travis Scott Elkins shoes and J Balvin Jordan 3 highlight the upcoming slate of collab Jordans.
