A Cartoon Black Cat Prowls On The Air Jordan 1 Low Method Of Make

One of MJ's most iconic monikers gets a playful tribute.

A Cartoon Black Cat Prowls On The Air Jordan 1 Low Method Of Make

The Air Jordan 1 Method of Make Low has made a pretty strong impact in its first few months on the market. Majoring in monochromatic looks that leave the emphasis on its designer-esque details, the women’s only silhouette is beginning to branch out from that home territory. It’s a bold step out of the box with the latest, forefronting some animated character with the “Black Cat” edition.

Clearest seen on the tongue tag, Jordan’s “Black Cat” alter ego replaces the traditional branding, drawn in near-rubber hose style with a collegiate Jordan banner resting just below. The character re-appears on the insole, ready to pounce atop some more traditional Jumpman & basketball iconography.

While the impact and ensuing resale prices of “Black Cat” Jordan 4s and Jordan 3s makes us expect a similar monochromatic treatment here, this Jordan 1 Low instead opts for a slightly twisted greyscale, placing smokey grey tones in between pure black notes at the extremities, painting the heel cup, tongue and outsole. In addition to the divergence in terms of its palette, this shoe ventures away from the crocodile leather that drew so many luxury comparisons. In its place, matte material takes to the quarter panels, while tumbled leather hits at the forefoot and heel cup.

The Air Jordan 1 Low Method of Make “Black Cat” is expected to hit shelves in the coming weeks. While a retail price point isn’t confirmed, previous MoM drops have hovered around $135. If you’re hoping to grab this pair when it lands, keep an eye on our Jordan Release Dates 2024 page for the most up-to-date info.
