Step Into Winter With The New Balance 2002R “Cordura Pack”

Fall and winter aren’t typically thought of as the best seasons to wear mesh running shoes, but New Balance isn’t about to let cold weather deter consumers from one of its most popular models. Despite being surpassed by the 1906R as the brand’s trendiest tech-runner, the New Balance 2002R is still one of the most prevalent daily drivers of the moment, continuing to flood retailers in a storm of different, widely available styles. Now sheltering from harsh conditions, New Balance is bringing Cordura fabric to three fresh colorways this October.

Official images showcase black, blue, and olive-colored pairs, all of which are almost entirely monochrome. Providing a bit more weather-proofing function than your standard GR, the base of each shoe is equipped with durable Cordura canvas; a feature made evident by a mini tag near the lateral heel. Hairy suede patches around the quarter add even more cold weather sensibility, while standard suede makes its usual appearance across the rest of the upper.

As mentioned above, all three looks are slated to hit newbalance.com and retailers this October in men’s sizing. Pricing hasn’t been disclosed yet, but all those in favor should anticipate an MSRP slightly over the standard $145 mark. See official images below and stay tuned for updates.

If you’re in need of a weather-friendly runner but would prefer a different style, the New Balance 1906R also boasts its own “Cordura Pack.”
