While Nike prides itself on its style-oriented, performance-promising sneaker offerings, silhouettes such as the Nike Offline demonstrate the Swoosh’s ability to apply their innovative design concepts to other footwear categories. To further prove those point, the Nike Air Rift is the next model to receive a Regrind outsole and join the brand’s Move to Zero journey.
The women’s sandal sports a soft, breathable textile and scuba construction in a neutral light beige shade. For a secure fit, adjustable velcro straps around found on the front and the heel. The strap on the heel features a NIKE logo where each letter is embroidered with a different pastel-colored thread. A tabi design at the toe makes the Air Rift a rather eccentric silhouette but may be gaining more acceptance thanks to high fashion’s approval of the split-toe look. Under the jagged midsole is the speckled regrind Rubber outsole to round out the playful design and mark its alignment with Nike’s sustainability efforts.
