The Nike Air Max 97 doesn’t boast the same mainstream popularity of other silhouettes under the NIKE, Inc. umbrella, but it’s been a go-to option among savvier consumers for years. For its latest proposition, the Christian Tresser-designed sneaker has indulged in a stealthy “Black” colorway slightly-accented by “Metallic Silver” hits.
Akin to iterations prepped for Valentine’s Days of yesteryear, the forthcoming pair indulges in a near-all-“Black” ensemble. Uppers, however, boast a traditional synthetic leather and mesh construction, instead of a sequin build. Swoosh branding on the profiles and tongue and “air max” text on the spine deviate from their monochromatic surroundings in a shimmering metallic tone. Visible Air cushioning underfoot also dons a grey-variant, but forgo the starkness of the aforementioned logos. Lastly, tread underfoot features the covert aesthetic and its visible counterpart.
An official Nike.com release date hasn’t been disclosed, but it’s likely this Air Max 97 launches quietly before summer ends. In the meantime, enjoy images of the shoes ahead.
