Even if you don’t know who Verdy is, it’s likely you’re familiar with some of his work. The creator of Girl’s Don’t Cry and collaborator to many an influential Japanese name, the graphic designer turned streetwear stalwart has quite the pedigree. And soon, he’ll join the ranks of the Nike SB family as he lends them the name of one of his earlier imprints: Wasted Youth.
True to the Wasted Youth ethos, the ensuing Nike SB Dunk Low displays a number of punk rock inspired touches. The patchwork base is already evident of such language, and when paired with the rose patches, contrast stitch, and dark denim fabric, the nod becomes further complete. Moreover, aside from the usual Zoom Air heel unit and padded tongue, the package accessorizes with metallic hoops and branded embroideries.
If you’re hoping to get your hands on a pair, you have a special opportunity later today. Via Verdy’s raffle, you’ll be able to earn the chance to cop a set along with a special box. The drawing starts at 3pm PST (6pm EST) and ends promptly at 3:15pm PST. Winners will be announced on Saturday, 4/3. If you miss out, don’t fret as the wider launch will follow on April 6th.
(Verdy has not yet updated the link in his IG bio to the raffle page. Stay tuned for updates.)
