Hued in “University Red,” the Nike Air Force 1 “First Use” is an homage to the silhouette’s decades’ worth of history. And alongside some tweaks to its branding, the offering layers on some relatively new amenities.
For instance, the lace unit makes use of not one but two strings, mixing together shades of white and deep red. Over top, gilded accessories help commemorate the new design in a way not like your ordinary dubrae. Suede overlays and leather bases furnish the rest of the upper, representing half of the aforementioned pairing. The tongue, logos, and midsole dress to its opposite, each — e.g. the thin, outlined Swoosh, “First use…” text, and vintage-inspired woven label — rather contrasted against the smooth and rough textures. Navy heel tabs and elegant embroidery, then, round off the colorway with some USA spirit.
