When it comes to running shoes, sportswear brands are constantly looking into the development of new technologies that offer the utmost comfort, speed, and traction to athletes. The accumulation of New Balance‘s latest efforts in such research has been translated into the creation of the upcoming FuelCell RC2 Elite v2—one of the label’s fastest propositions yet.
An update on the New Balance FuelCell RC2 Elite, this new style leverages findings from the New Balance Sports Research Lab and input from a handful of athletes. It pairs the brand’s highest rebound midsole compound (delivered by ACL foam) with a full-length carbon fiber plate for maximized energy. Aside from the midsole, the uppers also help marathon runners as they opt for a lightweight and breathable knit construction. The zigzag-like, oversized NB logo on the lateral side and the sky-inspired “new balance” text on the medial side are not only stylish branding elements, but are also contributors to barely-there support since they are strategically placed and 3D-printed. To complete the bold trainer, a black rubber outsole is implemented to provide lightweight traction and durability.
