Michael Le Back in June, it was revealed that Social Status would be reprising their collaborative relationship with Nike. The Dunk Low that ensued, which was ostensibly a kids-exclusive, referenced the free meals provided to underserved communities in the Summer. Specifically, the two colorways took a magnifying glass to the milk cartons included, referencing both strawberry and chocolate varieties through a vibrant, colorful lens.
Today, the two palettes are back in the spotlight as they’re also due to dress a Dunk Mid later this Fall. Both, height aside, resemble their low-top counterparts to near exact spec. Suedes, leathers, and much softer textiles run replete throughout the construction, colored in a fashion identical to the aforementioned. Branding-wise, the Swoosh and tongue label still bear a GEL and Tyvek finish, though the text along the medial heel is far less brief. Instead, it display a much larger ingredients list that is as follows: “Nike Sportswear, Social Status, Milky TPU Gel Swoosh, YY Velvet, Diffuse Nubuck, Microbial Textile Lining, Tyvek Label, Round Twisted Poly Laces.”
