New York City-institution Stussy and Nike aren’t strangers to one another, having crafted handfuls of compelling footwear options since the early naughts. Ahead of the Nike Air Force 1‘s 40th anniversary, the streetwear pioneer has put together at least two pairs of the model’s mid-top trim, with the “Grey/Black/White” option recently surfacing via official images.
Although the Air Force 1 Mid has historically been ridiculed by sneaker purists, it’s Stussy-designed arrangement is sure to turn some nay-sayers into happy customers. For starters, the color palette that takes over the high-quality tumbled leather across the upper delivers year-round versatility. A number of details – interlocking “S”-lettering on the forefoot and hardware at the spine – throughout the mid-top Air Force 1 inject a touch of streetwear into the mix. “Stussy”-branding appears on the lockdown strap around the ankle, tongue label and shoe box, further cementing its legacy in sportswear.
An official Nike SNKRS launch date hasn’t been confirmed by either party involved, but that’s likely to change in the first-half of the new year. In any case, enjoy images of the Air Force 1 Mid ahead.
