The Nike Air Max 1 has been in the spotlight over the last nine months given that it’s been celebrating its 35th anniversary. In addition to limited collaborations, Tinker Hatfield’s iconic design has welcomed the milestone with pairs like the newly-surfaced Master “Magna Orange.”
First seen in 2017 during the sneaker’s 30th birthday, the model’s Master iteration ups the ante in terms of quality and story-telling. The newly-surfaced take opts for a rather straightforward “Magma Orange,” “Neutral Grey” and “Light Bone” arrangement, but maintains the disparate patterns and textures across its mudguards and profile swooshes.
Five years ago, the Air Max 1 Master delivered a “What The” Dunk-like proposition, as the aforementioned components were comprised of fragmented panels nodding to a handful of important releases in the shoe’s design catalog. Various animal prints and contrasting colors came together on the original Air Max sneaker to commemorate 30 years up to that moment. With the premium version’s return in vibrant citrus flair, it’s possible the Swoosh is prepping a Master collection donning inaugural color-blocking. The yellowed midsole underfoot injects a touch of “age” into the kicks, while propelling the AM1 into its next 35 years.
Enjoy official images of the pair ahead, and anticipate a Nike SNKRS release soon.
