The Nike Air Kukini isn’t the premiere silhouette within the Swoosh’s lineup of products, but it’s enjoyed a cult-like following over the past few decades. As the sneaker returns to the company’s roster of offerings, it’s experimenting with themes, color palettes and materials. The latest?: A near uniform “Pilgrim” option.
Designed for triathlon athletes, the water-friendly design features a muted green hue across its textile base. The web-reminiscent overlays that appear from forefoot to heel take on a semi-translucent, smokey finish that delivers nice contrast to the remainder of the shoe. Leather panels at the tip of the toe match inner-lining and other accents in their dark makeup, creating an autumn-appropriate costume atop the 22-year-old creation. Underfoot, the Air Max-assisted sole unit also opts for a dark arrangement that allows for the upper to shine.
Enjoy official images of the pair ahead, and anticipate a nike.com launch soon.
