While Kevin Durant will be sidelined for the 2022-2023 All-Star weekend due to a knee injury, Nike Basketball is taking the month of February to finally bestow Kevin Durant’s signature line with the retro treatment. Honoring Durant’s first All-Star game as a starter in 2011, the 22-year-old poured in 34 points in the monochromatic “Challenge Red” Nike Zoom KD 3, which returns tomorrow 12 years since its initial debut.
Boasting the final iteration of the NBA’s traditional conference red and blue garb, the mid-cut model indulges in a clad vibrant red outfit casting Flywire cables across its forefoot with a lenticular holographic detailing coating the upper tongue. Filling its mid-foot panel with a luminous red-to-black gradient, crisp white Swooshes illuminate the consistently crimson composition. Stitching jet-black accents into the laces while further contrasting the heel’s branded gaming controller buttons, the midsole returns the original tooling’s Zoom Air forefoot while a semi-translucent wash of red finishes across the tread.
Releasing on Friday for a retail price of $130, enjoy one last look at the Nike Zoom KD 3 “All-Star” below alongside our accompanying store list to grab your pair.
