Widely ridiculed by newer sneaker fans, the Jordan Pro Strong boasts a formidable legacy amongst hoopers that turned to the model in the late 1990s.
Ahead of summer, the non-Air Jordan offering has appeared in a black, white, and red color scheme unquestionably borrowed from Michael Jordan’s signature series. The design already shares cues with the Air Jordan 13, a high-top sneaker that launched a year earlier in 1997. Jordan’s 13th mainline model helped the Chicago Bulls legend win his second three-peat, and appeared in a similar color scheme during the NBA Playoffs. The Jordan Pro Strong boasts its own identity, but there’s no denying that it borrows from its highly-successful predecessor. Hits of white keep the sneaker from donning a uniform finish across the upper and sole unit, while nodding to Jordan Brand’s iconic legacy.
Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead, as you wait for firm nike.com launch details. The shoe is priced at $140 USD.
