New Balance’s approach toward basketball’s current era of near-positionless play has been headlined by the TWO WXY series. Boasting a hybrid construction fit for guards and forwards alike, the mid-top silhouette’s latest colorway draws a direct line to NB ambassador Jamal Murray with a Nuggets-esque ensemble.
Throwing it back to the 80s, the TWO WXY V4 explores the same color palette that was attributed to the Nuggets’ classic blue uniforms that bear a rainbow-accented skyline. As such, the upper is split into a two-toned effort as a crisp “Optic White” floods the forefoot and front half of the dual technology midsole whereas a vibrant “Cobalt Blue” hue fills the suede mid-foot, heel and tongue. Striking hits of “True Red” then animate the sock liner, the medial side of the tongue and a portion of the half-blue tread underfoot while faint yellow accents illuminate the quarter and tongue tab. What’s more, the enlarged “N” logo has been cast in multi-color stitching in connection with the rainbow-treated insoles.
The New Balance TWO WXY V4 “My City” is currently available via the store list below for a retail price of $120. In the meantime, the pair can be seen ahead in official imagery.
For more on-court solutions, the Book 1 “Grey/Orange” recently surfaced.
