Devin Booker’s All-Black Nike Book 1 Is A “Detroit Stomper”

While a pair of calf and ankle injuries have sidelined Devin Booker throughout much of the NBA season thus far, the three-time All-Star and newest Nike signature athlete hasn’t shied away from providing on-court looks at his burgeoning discography of colorways. As he slowly works himself back into the rotation, Booker recently unveiled a first look at one of the Nike Book 1’s earliest samples.

Clad in jet-black tones – a common theme amongst early-stage signature shoes – the pictured pair was originally tooled for the Beaverton brand’s wear-testing stage. Composed of suede, textile mesh and nubuck, the model’s only semblance of color remains ingrained within the heel tabs book page inspiration and the Detroit Tiger’s logo that adorns the heel overlay – a nod to Booker’s lifelong fandom and persistent appearances in the team’s pure black flat-brim hat. While a matte-type finish is applied to the silhouette’s dusk-like conditions, the color-matched profile swoosh instead opts for an iridescent treatment that gleams under the right lighting conditions.

The Nike Book 1 “Detroit Stomper” won’t receive a broader release date, but keep an eye out for the pair throughout the rest of the Phoenix Suns and Devin Booker’s season. In the meantime, the pair can be seen ahead in first-look imagery.
