James Harden’s adidas Harden Vol. 8 signature has yet to hit stores, but we’re already getting a first look at the model that’ll follow – the adidas Harden Vol. 9.
This early look is a testament to how long the process if for a new product to actually reach the market. This first look at the early sample, revealed by @lalong.sneaker on Instagram, shows that the former MVP is firm on his needs for a lower-cut shoe. The height is consistent not only with all of his signature models prior, but also with the performance models he wore during his time with Nike nearly a decade ago.
With adidas Basketball swiftly changing its design direction, the Harden Vol. 9 reflects that refined and refreshed ethos via the exterior body. The three stripes are represented via the molded upper, with oblong cuts representative of the brand name. The upper immediately extends to the outsole traction, ridding the model of any conventional midsole structure and hiding the presumed BOOST cushioning technology within. Inside is a snug bootie construction with a classic lacing system and a heel pull-tab.
The Harden Vol. 9 will likely not come to market until Spring 2025, as long as the brand follows their annual release schedule. Given just how early we’re seeing this sample, it wouldn’t be a surprise of the German brand has these penciled in for Holiday 2023.
