With in-line pack drops, New Balance has established a track record of ringing in new seasons and acknowledging major events on the calendar. Accomplishing both in one fell swoop, an upcoming set of New Balance 2002R is set to joining the New Balance 9060 in the “Festival” pack.
The adults’ release is arguably the more reigned-in, only deploying colorful hits on a slight peach slices under the dip in the sock-liner and towards the forefoot, along with a swatch of red suede at the heel. Perhaps fittingly, the kids’ pair here freshens things up quite a bit, carrying a much more vibrant shade of red as well as aquatic teals and blues down the midline.
For those who are tapped into runners news, the neutral overtones and bright accenting at work here is exactly parallel to those New Balance 9060 “Festival” editions. With no official word from New Balance, the celebratory title seems more likely to be a simple motif rather than dedicated to any specific holiday.
The “Festivals” Pack as a whole will release on March 29th, with the New Balance 2002R carrying a $150 MSRP for adult sizing and $120 for GS. Enjoy official galleries of both just ahead.
Elsewhere on the NB docket, two Made In USA releases arrive this week with the New Balance 990v4 “Arctic Grey” and New Balance 990v4 “Macadamia Nut.”
