With the return of the Wu-Tang Dunk Highs and next year’s revival of the Undefeated Jordan 4, it appears that no grail is safe from a re-release. This is great news for those who were never able to secure a pair, but equally a thorn on the side for those who were in it from day one. Regardless of which side of that line you stand, Nike is ready to unleash another all-time classic this Fall — the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 “Chlorophyll”.
For a moment in time, the Amsterdam-based brand was the king of Air Max 1 collabs. Their work in late 2009, which include three different colorways of the Air Max 1 in denim twill uppers, are among the most sought after collectible pairs in history. Late last year, it was reported that Patta and Nike would be dropping another Air Max 1, although it wasn’t entirely clear of the original green “Chlorophyll” pair would be the one to return. However, flicks of Patta’s founders wearing the shoes in recent days have thus confirmed that a re-issue is looming.
Here we have another shot at the iconic collaboration, true to the original design and materials. The signature green appears on the twill mudguards, but also accent the various branding around the shoe such as the PATTA logo on the tongue and the Swoosh emblems on the heel and forefoot.
A release date is currently expected on September 21st for $160.
