The genesis point of Aimé Leon Dore’s collaborative journey started around the New Balance 550 and how the game of basketball serves at a unification point for athletes and community around the globe. Sticking largely with retro product since their “International Friendship Through Basketball” campaign, Aimé Leon Dore has been responsible for ushering back the vintage hoops/sport aesthetic since the first ALD 550 collab dropped back in 2020.
Now, the NYC-based brand is bringing athletics into the mix with its first-ever New Balance basketball performance shoe project.
Below, Aimé Leon Dore unveils a first look at their New Balance Hesi Low v2 in a classic “Home” and “Away” treatment. The white pair (available now here) features a classic white upper with touches of hunter green on the slanted-N logos on the upper, the ALD stamp on the heel, and the interior lining. A milky opaque white rubber outsole sits at the bottom.
Next is the contrarian “Away” pair done in black, gold, and the same hunter green. That pair is available now for $130 here as well.
About The New Balance Hesi Low v2
The second iteration of the Hesi Low v2 by New Balance was officially unveiled earlier in July 2024. New Balance athlete and Philadelphia 76ers star guard Tyrese Maxey is currently the face of this specific model; it is possible that Maxey will wear the ALD collaboration during an NBA game.
