Quietly signing a five year max contract extension while the dust was still settling from ‘The Decision’, Kevin Durant is trying another novel approach for his next Nike signature shoe. The Nike Zoom KD II was popular with players around the league, most notably Amare’ Stoudemire, and now Durant himself is reaching out to other players in the hopes they’ll rock the upcoming KDIII.
He called out Anthony Morrow and Nate Robinson, who’s known to wear a variety of heat, including several Air Jordans and Zoom/Air Max LeBrons, and has already gotten word from New Jersey Nets swingman Terrence Williams that he’ll “def rock [Durant’s] shoes, it would be an honor.” Durant also mentioned Toronto Raptors teammates DeMar DeRozan and Sonny Weems by name, so it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.
