DJ Clark Kent‘s name has become regular verbage in sneakerhead circles as he’s collaborated with Nike numerous times to create some great releases in the past. Somewhat of a ‘Thank You’ to the Brooklyn-native, Nike created a special set of three Nike Air Force 1 Lows dubbed the Triple Black Pack, with each pair owning its own design concept and inspiration. Patent leather, suede, and full-grain leather are the three bases used for each pair; the patent leather is meant to be for flashier occasions, with white dye used in the laser etching for an urban-styled touch. The leather pair is inspired by a classic black leather jacket, while the suede pair is destined to be the ‘out the door’ pair for everyday use – which draws inspiration from a chukka or a Wallabee shoe. All three pairs are house in a custom laser-etched wooden box, with graphics of the Air Force 1 as well as DJCK’s trademark headphones, and each pair is represented by a circular portrait of the graphics of each shoe. These will not be released to the public so take a look at the this special set of Air Force 1s after the jump and let us know which design you like best. via TSG.

“Each pair of air force 1’s are suppose to embody a different attitude or lifestyle portrayed thru their color way material choice.
The patent leather pair a flashy sheen to which I like to think makes wearing a sneaker just as elegant as wearing the latest Cole Hann to an upscale event. The white dye in the laser burned area gave it a smooth gray look but also can be interpreted as tuxedo look. All the while maintaining its street prestige because of its air force aesthetic.
A leather jacket inspires the leather pair. It is suppose to be leather jacket-esc, which is why the upper is constructed of perf leather and nice grain leather. The lace, out sole and stitch color was decided by how the leather contrasted itself after being burned. It gave the upper a true brown color so I contrast the lace, stitch and gum bottom by using a cream color to pop the shoe out.
The suede pair is design for lounging and pretty much be the “out the door” air forces. Which means your more consistent pair of the three to wear. So the upper material choice came from a chukka/ wallaby idea. The burn on this shoe made it an obvious choice for lace and out sole choice because of its rich brown burn so it was only right to match the lace and outsole to give this shoe character.
The graphics on the box are not over the top because we didn’t want it to be a distraction to the collection, which is why the graphics are subtle so to speak. Inside the bottom of the box lies the pair of shoes etched in to box for registration. This lets you know how and where to place these 3 pair of air force ones in one box. The headphones are like out way of denoting that these belong to DJ Clark Kent without actually having to say it literally. Kind of giving Mr. Kent his own insignia if he doesn’t have one already. The pods on the box lid also are for registration purpose. Since the air force one is a classic shoe, it deserved a classic logo. The original Nike air force one logo was burned into the lid adding the its classic, nostalgic look accompanied by the wooden box. These details, such as the classic graphic, and the large wooden box are suppose to intensify its originality and prestige.”
