Over the weekend, Sneaker News showed you a new upcoming colorway of the Nike Zoom Kobe VI commemorative Black History Month. Here’s a new, detailed look; as mentioned before, the upper features a special treatment on the material that gives it multiple ridges and flowing lines, which is in fact a tribute to the African cultural art form of facial and bodily scarification. That form of body-art has been practiced in African tribal communities for quite a long time, and symbolizes strength, courage, and leadership. Another special detail can be seen on the insoles; the left insole features a special graphic of ‘A Call to Greatness’ with the roman numeral XXXV, marking the 35th anniversary of Black History Month, and the right insole with a quote stating “Overcome the odds. Make an impact on your sport. Change the world.” Continue reading for a detailedviewing and let us know what you think. via MarqueeSole.
