adidas Micropacers are the the footwear equivalent of Striptease: sounds an overly expensive idea that’s probably ahead of time, yet it’ll take a major failure upon first release before becoming a cult classic for irony-loving hipsters everywhere.
Since they were so expensive when they dropped back in 1984, it’s appropriate that the high-end adidas Originals line brings us this visually stimulating take on the old design. The actual print is simple when you look at it up close: ovals placed at even intervals. Upon further inspection, and especially from further away (*your first impression of the shoe), we can see that the oval colours are staggered so as to imply that the base of the pattern is a grate through which we’re seeing a slightly misalligned collection of green, yellow and black stripes. It’s a mouthful, but the chance to see your friends jaws drop might be worth the relatively high pricetag. Appreciate it, Vagant.
