The Nike Air Penny II was finally re-issued in 2009 in the three original Orlando Magic inspired colorways as well as a number of other off-centered editions like the ‘Miami Heat’, ‘Blackout’, and the ‘Copper’ versions. The Penny II is one of those rare exceptions to the sophomore-slump rule, as it featured a number of new design details never before seen in any other sneaker – not even an Air Jordan. The flowing lines on the molded midsole, the prominence of the 1-cent logo, the Zoom/Max Air combo – it had the proper workings of a classic shoe even when it first debuted fifteen years ago. This Summer 2012 season, Nike Sportswear will re-introduce the Air Penny II in two brand-new colorways anchored by Atomic Green – one with black, and another with White and Blue that has quickly adopted the ‘Sprite’ moniker. Expect both to hit this Summer 2012 season with June as the target date, and let us know which of the two you like better. via jshortt on NT.
