Nike Basketball’s ad game was always on point – but is there one as memorable as “Lil Penny”? Voiced by Chris Rock, Lil’ Penny was sort of an alter ego of the much more reserved Anfernee Penny Hardaway, and the duo was the focus of various Air Penny ads in the mid-late 1990s. In 2009, we saw Nike pay tribute to the little one with the Nike Air Half Cent – a hybrid model of all the signature shoes from the Penny line. The Penny V, which released after that shoe, obviously was not a component of the Half Cent design, but here we see the two come together as we get a first look at the Nike Air Penny V “Lil’ Penny”.
