Air Jordan 5 “Take Flight” To Retail For $400

Air Jordan 5 Take Flight Release Date Price Info 01

Add another model to the ever-growing list of $400 Jordan retros to release at retail. The Air Jordan 5 “Take Flight” will release on February 11th, 2017 listed at the luxury price point given the militarized construction that takes cues from the P51 flight bomber jacket.

The Air Jordan 5 Take Flight is a part of a larger “Take Flight” Collection that saw the Air Jordan 8 “Sequoia” release earlier in the year alongside the original Air Jordan 15 retro. This is no normal Air Jordan 5 though, as the premium construction features a leather wrapped midsole for the first time ever, a new laser perforated ventilation unit on the side panel that does away with the original mesh insert, and a crazy oversized ‘Flight’ lace lock comprised of a similar leather.

The military inspiration is also accomplished through the overall colorway, as that familiar Sequoia green shade hits the entirety of the upper to contrast Jordan Brand’s signature Vachetta Tan lifestyle accent on the tongue. There’s no 3M reflective material to be found on the pair, and the midsole shark teeth, already inspired by a fighter plane, are hidden through that luxurious leather wrap. So do you plan on paying a Pinnacle-esque price of $400 USD for this pair?
