Dj Clark Kent Presents NikeiD.2U – An Air Force 1 Only Event

Tucked away in a cozy office overlooking midtown, amidst a wide array of mahogany desks and cabinets, apple desktops with Nike logos had invaded the area and for good reason. Clark Kent in conjunction with Nike ID kicked off the first NIKEiD.2U event at an unsuspecting office suite somewhere in Manhatten. Less than 30 AF1 Aficionados were hand picked by Dj Clark Kent himself to be in attendance for this dope event. For nearly 12 hours smiling faces and drooling mouths clamored for desktop space to sit with a Nike ID design consultant or Clark Kent himself to create an ID masterpiece. Among the attendees were Mayor “Air to the throne”, D. Wells of OSD, Chris Vidal, Chef of GourmetKickz, Manny of Sneaker Spot, Suraj of Sneaker Room, Sean Williams of “Know You Got Sole” and a few other heavy collectors. Some drove in from as far as Boston to be at the special event because what collector in his right mind would turn down this invitation from none other than the AF1 King himself!

The setup was cozy and the vibe was very chummy as connections were made and deals solidified over the consumption of the world’s most popular kick. Clark made his rounds making sure his people were well taken care of, designing an AF1 here and there some of which you may even see pop up at a couple spots in Brooklyn in about 4 weeks time. Credit cards were smoking with mass quantities of AF1’s being force fed into NikeID’s processing data banks, at times nearly slowing the Nike x Apple supercomputers to a halt! After creating each design you got a cool little card printed on an amazing desktop apparatus with a high resolution image of your creation. Once you were satisfied with the number of cards in your hand, you checked out and sat back with pride and a huge smile.

The material choices, though basic still allowed for tons of designs since most of the panels are now independent of one another. There is no more suede, however there is still black and white patent leather and tons of full grain leather colors. The toebox and quarters can now received white, grey, or black mesh. The most commonly stated fact however by nearly every connoisseur in the room was “Awww no more gum sole?” yes folks its true, no more gum, for now that is…Clark, some help there maybe? All in all a spectacular event with spectacular people and the indication of great things to come from NikeID and their new endeavor to “cater” events with ID’s as they bring NikeID.2U.
