Taka Hayashi Bolsters The Midsole Of The Vans 138 Mid LX

Taka Hayashi Bolsters The Midsole Of The Vans 138 Mid LX

As consistent a collaborator as any, Taka Hayashi makes his return to the Vans Vault line-up, crafting two colorways of the 138 Mid LX in a style he can confidently call his own. Part military and part tonal staple, the capsule leans far into the realm of neutrals and earth tones with modifications restructuring the template of many of the label’s icons. Jazz stripes are standard on the medial, though extending just a tad bit more than usual, while ripped off on the lateral in asymmetric fashion while rubber foxing lifts out from underneath the midsole for augmented armor in both protection and aesthetics. A standout patch also finds itself in complimenting connecting to war time communications in its morse code graphic. Arriving in either a deep olive drab or a much more versatile off-white, the forthcoming capsule is sure to catch the eye of waffle sole devotees upon their May 1st release date.
