After debuting on the soles of All-Star center Anthony Davis last year, the Nike Air Force Max looks to further along its range this season with the introduction of the Air Force Max II. A contemporary design that platforms off of Charles Barkley’s Nike footwear of the early 1990s, this sequel features many elements that you would typically find in a Nike Basketball signature shoe, although this high-performance package doesn’t quite bear any athlete’s name. The cushioning system is that of a full-length Air Max unit, while an external counter provides stability at the heel and lockdown at two key zones at the midfoot, with an actual strap at the forefoot offering customizable fit. The entire upper makes use of a lightweight mesh above an interior body, while a hardened film appears at the big toe to maintain stability. Finally, the “Engineered To The Exact Specifications Of Championship Athletes” text appears on the medial panel where the strap harnesses in.
Three new colorways will kickoff this model’s launch, and while these indeed are not a signature shoe for the Lakers’ new superstar, you will certainly see him rocking these along with other NBA players this coming season. Grab a closer look at each colorway here below, and expect them to roll out on Nike.com and at other retailers in the coming weeks.
