The overwhelming resurgence of corduroy in recent years is only a sign that all trends find their way back to the spotlight sometime, and with even the giant sneaker brands conforming, we’ve effectively turned the retro modern. Largely sparked by Sean Wotherspoon in relation to the sneaker scene, the material itself has gone on to craft one of the most iconic AM97s, with after effects felt as its gone from Nike staple to staple and now to the Air Max 98, a pair that is almost the mirror match of the aforementioned shoe in all but its hybridized form. Constructed entirely of wide wale cords in an assortment of saturated hues, the pair surprisingly lets no single tone lead the way; rather, it’s multi mix gives almost equal parts to the deep purples at the base, the tans just above the grey-dyed mudguard, and even the pastel pinks at the tongue and webbing. Swooshes, left miniature, compliment in a cool-tinged green across the toe and profile, while sole units dress up extremely unassuming in neutrals accented by some of the core palette along its tread.
