Nike Sportswear has never been shy to indulge in territories of constructional experimentation, especially for their Air Force 1, which in the past has been spotted carrying tear-away uppers, detachable velcro Swooshes, and even double layered midsole pieces. So for this upcoming installment, Beaverton is bringing this form of styling to our attention once more with differences presented through the Swooshes. This time around the lateral logos come in interchangeable form, and can be fastened to the shoes by way of the side zipper closures seated towards the rear. With the success of past Nike AF1 collaborations with Travis Scott and Errolson Hugh’s popular ACRONYM imprint, it’s quite possible that the inspiration behind these kicks was pulled from the elements that these icons employed in their own respective Swoosh projects. This initial colorway utilizes a near-faded black tumbled leather backdrop for its base, and leaves wearers with the choice of white and crimson red Nike embellishments. In addition, the dubrae “Air” branding has been dialed up a few levels in terms of the sizing of its text. Take a peek at more images here ahead, and expect these to drop in the coming weeks on Nike.com and at select retailers.
In other Swoosh related news, another set of the UNDEFEATED Air Max 90 is in the works.
