Nike Announces The Return Of The Air Cross Trainer 3 Low

Nike Announces The Return Of The Air Cross Trainer 3 Low

Cross training sneaker are far removed from their 1980s fitness boom-heyday, but they remain important chapters in Nike’s history. It’s no surprise, then, that the Air Trainer SC High has received dozens of retros over the last decade, or that all three heights of the Air Barrage relaunched over the last two years for the first time in three decades. Similarly, the Air Cross Trainer 3 Low, first introduced in 1990, will leave the archives this Spring.

Designed with aesthetic cues from the aforementioned silhouette most associated with dual-sport athlete Bo Jackson, the low-top Air Cross Trainer 3 arrived as the visible Air Max revolution began. Yet, the silhouette’s low-tech vibe made transitioning between a range of daily activities seamless. As was the case 30 years ago, the Air Cross Trainer‘s relaunch boasts subtle, monochromatic uppers accented by pops of either “Neptune Green” or “Racer Blue” on the tongue and midsole. By contrast, the forthcoming Supreme Nike Cross Trainer features panels clad in “University Red” and “Pine Green,” among other hues.

An official release date is still unknown, but the Air Cross Trainer 3 low is set to arrive to Nike.com this Spring. In the meantime, enjoy a closer look at the two relaunch colorways here below.

Elsewhere in the world of retro Nike models, the Zoom Spiridon Caged 2 “Metallic Silver” from 2003 returns on April 13th.
