The New Balance 575 “Harajuku” Nods To Region’s 60s Fashion Sense

The New Balance 575 “Harajuku” Nods To Region’s 60s Fashion Sense

Re-routing the attention from its upcoming KITH projects as well as their popular 327 model for a brief second, New Balance is shining a light on their “Made in UK” family this week to initiate a new 575 colorway. Traveling across the world to Tokyo, Japan, the Boston-based imprint draws inspiration from the city’s bustling Harajuku scene from the 60s to inspire this newly released makeup. It’s low-profile structure is primarily crafted with stealthy base layers coupled with angelic overlays placed atop the heels and down the throat to represent black and white television. Its midfoot is where its spirit really comes alive as vibrant red checkerboard patterns layer beneath its “N” logo to interpret Japan’s rising sun flag. For those of you looking to get your hands on a pair, a full size run is available now on NewBalance.com for $220 USD, so check out a detailed look here ahead before you add them to cart.

In other news, the next New Balance Tokyo Studio R_C1300 colorway releases this weekend.
