Since landing on the Nike Air Max 1 in 1987, visible Air cushioning has been instrumental to The Swoosh’s footwear innovation. Over three decades later, Air Max technology has been used to make history again as Nike has unveiled its latest silhouette: the Air Max Up.
Tuned specifically for women from the ground up, the newest visible Air-cushioned model continues the legacy begun with the Air Max Dia and Air Max Verona. The Air Max up combines Cushlon at the forefoot with an all-new ramp Air unit at the heel. Unlike previous plump Airbags (i.e. the Air Max 270‘s), the new silhouette’s continues non-pressured air that is less-resistant to taking on additional shapes and designs. It promises the same all-day comfort and casual style that’s become expected of other Air Max options under the Nike Sportswear umbrella. Furthermore, the Air Max Up’s launch colorway nods to the bold women who have paved the way for future generations through their unconventional lives.
“[W]omen are really wearing history when they put on the Nike Air Max Up,” said Nike Color Designer Arielle Ebenholtz.
Full release details are still unknown, but the women’s Air Max Up launches on August 7th at Nike.com. In the meantime, check out the Jordan 3 Laser Orange, another women’s-exclusive pair from NIKE, Inc.
