As of yesterday, January 19th, Paris Fashion Week officially kicked off with shows from Sankuanz, Rhude, and many others. While the schedule itself has changed little, the event’s showings are far different as a result of COVID-19, all brands forced to display their looks digitally.
There’s no exception even for UNDERCOVER, whose Fall/Winter ’21 collection was shot bluntly in front of the back side of a canvas. Alongside their signature tailoring, all-over print standouts, and referential knits, the Japanese label also revealed a quick glimpse at their latest Nike collaboration: a duo of neutral-toned Dunk Highs.
This wouldn’t be the first time designer Jun Takahashi has dressed up the Dunk High, but it is certainly one of his most reserved takes on the silhouette yet. Unlike the Jungle Dunks prior, the construction is left surprisingly untouched, furnished with the model’s typical paneling and tooling. Signature UC motifs are then layered atop, though, with the back heel the most notable as the left foot features “CHAOS” text while the right is adorned with “GLEICHGEWICHT,” or “BALANCE” as translated from German. Contrast speckles then hit the midsole, made either dark or light depending on their respective Triple White or Triple Black backdrops. What’s more, the pair then marks its collar with “NEUES” and “NEUER,” a pairing that means “NEW” and “NEW.”
Grab a quick peek at the FW21 collaboration here and expect to learn more about the release once we come close to the season.
In other news, the Kobe 6 Protro All-Star was just officially revealed.
