Damian Lillard is the superstar point guard for the Milwaukee Bucks, and a signature adidas Basketball athlete. His Three Stripes contract was inked before he even began his Hall of Fame tenure with the Portland Trail Blazers. It was a decision adidas quickly doubled down on by handing him a 10 year extension in 2014, ensuring Three Stripes control of Damian Lillard shoes through 2024.
His line of signature shoes is one of the longest in modern times for the brand, stretching up to his current on-court selection, the adidas Dame 8. First debuting in 2021, the shoe was given a bit of new life when its spin off model, the adidas DAME 8 EXPTLY debuted to fulfill a more cost-effective lane.
At All-Star Weekend in 2024, the Three Stripes gave press an official first look at the adidas Dame 9. That announcement was met with a ton of coverage and attention, heating up once again as Lillard donned the shoe in his Bucks playoffs debut.
The BAPE Dame 9 introduced the model, followed shortly after by that “Purple Burst” playoff pair and a “Solar Red” colorway. As the 2024-25 NBA season draws on, expect a healthy stream of new looks for the adidas Dame 9.
