Sneakerheads everywhere are no doubt excited for the 2011 Retro release of the Black/Cement Air Jordan III later this year, but rumors have been swirling for awhile that we may see the eagerly-awaited release altered from its original form in more ways than just a Jumpman replacing “Nike Air” on the heel. Word of a possible nubuck version has made its way around the web, but here we finally get a look at a sample featuring a black nubuck upper in place of the classic leather look. While it’s not clear whether or not this will be the production version that goes to retail, it’s safe to say that this kind of drastic modification will ruffle plenty of feathers in the sneaker world if released. You can check out a pair of the leather edition after the jump and let us know what you think of the potential nubuck shake up.
