Today, as part of its Inside Access series, Nike Basketball officially unveils a brand-new in-line release of the Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low Flyknit, set to debut at retail this Fall. The sneaker, officially dubbed “Hyper Grape”, can be seen as an homage to the greatest pop-star of all-time, with the translucent outsole acting as a frame for the amazing lunar graphics on the bottom of the footbed – a clear nod to Jackson’s patented on-stage move known as the “Moonwalk”. Back in February, Kobe Bryant revealed the interesting tidbit of info that one of the upcoming low-top Kobe 9 Elite Flyknit releases would be inspired by Michael Jackson, which provides even more insight on the strength of the synergy between Kobe and Nike Basketball’s design crew. What do you think of this new colorway? Check out the official photos below and stay tuned for the release on July 12th.
