It’s safe to say that all of you reading this consider yourselves ‘collectors’ to some extent. While we all fit under the broad umbrella of sneaker collecting, most of us have a specific category that weighs heavy in our hearts. This collection submitted by winson_guo for example goes ham on the PE’s, opting to chase down some of the more elusive pieces of sneaker history out there. The selection includes pairs from big name Nike and Jordan athletes like Dwayne Wade and Chris Paul, and branches out over a good number of models. There’s plenty of Jordan legacy releases with the team flavored colorways, the Air Jordan 2010, Air Jordan 2011, and Air Jordan XII to name a few, then groups from Nike Basketball sig’s like the Nike Zoom Kobe VI and the Nike Air Max LeBron VII. Follow us after the jump for the full photos and let us know what you think of this collection.

2011 was in one way or another a ‘career year’ for Ray Allen. His capturing of the NBA’s All-Time 3-Pt. Record was the perfect cap to a legendary career that is unlikely to be replicated for a long time. Ray Allen’s professionalism and devotion to the game of basketball is what makes him one of the greatest players to ever hit the hardwood, but credit Jordan Brand for tapping that potential when they brought him on as a Jordan Brand athlete. In celebration of Ray Allen’s record-breaking moment, Jordan Brand created this special edition colorway of the Air Jordan 2011; it features the now-familiar ‘Ray’ logo on the tongue with the magic number 2561 printed beneath. The mudguard also emphasizes the pressed leather technique by colorizing it in two different tones of gold and green. Check out the additional shot of this sick Air Jordan 2011 PE below and let us know what you think! via weibo.

When seeking ‘amazing’, one doesn’t need to look beyond Michael Jordan. The ‘Where Amazing Happens’ slogan has been used to describe the dramatic events of the NBA, but davyc3 of Kenlu looks back to Michael Jordan for an inspiration of ‘amazing’, using the Air Jordan VI/XI DMP from 2006 as the inspiration behind this Nike iD custom. Davyc3 created this Air Jordan 2011 from Nike iD, then customized the Jordan logo on the tongue, heel, and outsole as well as the upper-most lace eyelets for that perfect touch of metallic gold – just like the Defining Moments Package that started the whole ‘Package’ craze. Check out the additional detailed angles of davyc3‘s customized Air Jordan 2011 iDs and let us know what other Air Jordans you’d like to see in that ‘DMP’ motif.

Many Jordan fans have compared the Air Jordan 2011 to the Air Jordan XI for their similarities in design and ‘wearability’. The connection between those two models continues as we get a look at the Air Jordan 2011 ‘Carbon Fiber’, spotted on the feet of Jordan Brand creative director Andre Doxey. Very few pairs of the Carbon Fiber Air Jordan 2011 exists, made for a select number of folks on the Jordan Brand team. Not the ‘Jumpman Jordan’ strip on the tongue as well, which is one of the prominent details of the Air Jordan XI. The NBA Jam video game franchise was such a huge part of the 90′s video game generation. The NBA arcade game spurned realism and true simulation for over-the-top slam dunks, speed boosts, the memorable ‘He’s on fire!’ exclamations by the commentators – NBA Jam was the perfect way to knocks over rules and regs and have fun playing as your favorite NBA stars. NBA Jam looks to catch on fire in the 21st century with NBA Jam: On fire edition, and here was have a few in-game stills of the Air Jordan 2011 in numerous PE colorways; check out Jordan Brand athletes Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Joe Johnson, and more rocking personalized team-colored AJ2011s below and let us know which is your favorite!

We haven’t seen too many unreleased samples of the Air Jordan 2011, probably because every colorway thought up by the Jordan Brand creative team was released. The Warrior Pack, the four All-Star Game releases, the Blackouts, the JB Classics, and not to mention, the Air Jordan 2011 iD made no colorway go unnoticed, but here’s a look at a Promo Sample of the Air Jordan 2011 in White, Grey, and Blue. The upper may remind you of the Air Jordan 2011 ‘Year of the Rabbit’, but the blue mesh tongue and the speckling on the translucent outsole make these almost like the Year of the Rabbit x Eastern Conference All-Star hybrid colorway. It’s a pretty sick colorway and unfortunately, that combo of colors stands outside the reach of the Air Jordan 2011 iD options, so check out the extra images below and to test your auction skills, hit up the auction from tsm_2010 on eBay.

Will the Air Jordan 2011 iD open doors to Air Jordan Retros appearing on Nike’s DIY sneaker customization experience? How mind-bogglingly insane would it be if you could pick your own two-toned elephant print, your own glossy patent leather, or your own mult-colored AJ7 tongue. In the words of Christopher Walken, “Wowee.” (ref. to the Saturday Night Live parody of Renzo Cesana). At this moment, we can fully enjoy the Hatfield/Luedecke designed Air Jordan 2011 on iD, and Nike Harajuku‘s samples show that the Air Jordan, envisioned by the minds of unique and distinct individuals, can produce some outstanding results. Check out some more images of the Air Jordan 2011 iD samples below and let us know what Air Jordan Retro you’d kill to see on Nike iD!

Jordan Brand athlete Ray Allen’s always been one of the humble guys. Even his portrayal of Jesus Shuttlesworth as a future star in He Got Game mirrored his true self – a consummate professional that let anything get to his head…until now. Well, the comical NBA Jam franchise is known for creating playable characters with oversized noggins, and as we get a peek at some stills at the upcoming game, we also get a look at Ray Allen’s Air Jordan 2011 PEs. It’s got a crisp white upper with a Celtic green tongue and lace set-up, while the ‘Away’ version uses a black/green upper. Will we see a release of the Air Jordan 2011 Ray Allen PEs before year’s end? Check out the extra shots below and let us know what you think.

The Air Jordan 2011 is breaking barriers all around. Aside from being the first Air Jordan shoe to have interchangeable ‘Quick’ and ‘Explosive’ cushioning systems, the Air Jordan 2011 is also the first Air Jordan shoe to be available on Nike iD, the personal customization experience that allows the consumer to create one of thousands of combinations of colorways for the sneaker. An Air Jordan sneaker has never been featured on Nike iD, so is the inclusion of the Air Jordan 2011 a sign of things to come? Will we possibly see an Air Jordan Retro available for customization? Check out these samples of the Air Jordan 2011 iD in the familiar ‘Bred’ and ‘Cool Grey’ colorways as well as the transplanted ‘Entourage’ and ‘Summit Lake Hornets’ editions and stay tuned to Nike iD as the Air Jordan 2011 will officially become available this Wednesday.

It’s already the first Air Jordan Legacy flagship model to let you choose your own cushioning platform, so letting you pick which colors and materials to apply to the Air Jordan 2011 iD seems like the next logical step. This equifinality can also be traced back to almost exactly one year ago to the day when the AJ2010 showed up on the NIKEiD app during the Apple iPhone 4 unveiling. Fast forward to the present and we’re just over a week away from the Wednesday, August 18th launch, so click through to see some sample designs and let us know which colorways you most want to apply to the Air Jordan 2011 on NIKEiD.
